POSITION OVERVIEW:We are seeking an Associate Merchandise Planner to support our Director of Merchandise Planning to focus on inventory management and forecasting for the LIVELY team. Reporting to the Director of Merchandise Planning for LIVELY, you will be responsible for assisting with managing sales and inventory financial plans for the entire LIVELY assortment at a topline as well as at the department(s), style and SKU level. Our Associate Planner will be responsible for aiding with analyzing, identifying and communicating sales opportunities and providing risk-mitigating recommendations. Focus is on maximizing profitability while aligning with total company goals, and customer expectations.
Collaborate with leadership team on preseason and in season plans to align on sales and inventory strategies. Provide a diagnosis of the business and own suggested course of action. Create, update and enhance tools and process that supports financial integrity and allows for flexibility and innovation. Actively listen, engage and respond to team leaders and leadership in response to opportunities and challenges. Optimize supply chain and LIVELY owned factory to leverage speed to market, gross margin goals and prioritizing needs. Collaborate and influence Marketing team to optimize inventory providing recommendations for organic and paid advertising. React to current trends and partner with factory to maintain in stock position on key styles. Own wholesale initiatives communicating with buyers, creating tailored assortments, providing recommendations, identify risks/opportunities and strategize on actions for department stores and grow other partnerships. Create and maintain sales forecasts and inventory management at the dept, style, and size level. Conduct style outs to determine future assortment based on style productivity Develop key reports and tools to monitor and control sales plans and inventory in a scalable way. Recap business by category, style, color and size and create best seller/hindsight reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to measure past performance and to help inform future buys. to ensure customer needs are met. Manage flow of inventory and identify sales opportunities in season with a focus on maximizing profitability to meet company's goals and customers needs.
Preseason Summarize the opportunity and risk of a product plan as it relates to trend and financial metrics: initial mark-up, average unit retail, average unit cost, net margin dollars/rate. Recommend style count, cc count and flow of goods for optimal results. Develop and present the financial strategy associated with growth and diminishing categories in quarterly investment review meetings. Effectively communicate support for style level buys as it relates to current trend, historical findings or related categories. Create preseason sales, margin and inventory plans by department, style and color for core and launches. Analyze and report on previous quarter results; identify \"missed sales\" and growth drivers Work with production to ensure timeline of all new productions and communicate any changes with cross-functional partners.

Inseason Provide daily and weekly updates on business as it relates to last forecast, identifying trends, and highlighting selling that exceeds or falls short of expectation. Prepare sales, margin and inventory forecast monthly Partner with Merchandise Planner in OTB forecast meetings for current year; provide sales trend opportunity for future quarters, validate stock-to-sales relationships, maximize receipt flow to improve turn, and reconcile receipts to drive profitability. Generate and manage style level weekly unit sales plans in season by week/month/quarter and identify styles contributing to a +/- to forecast. Monitor basic style selling trends and partner with Director of Merchandise Planning to plan quarterly flow. Manage and develop the Assistant Merchandise Planner. Analyzes product performance in season, monitors demand, and reforecasts to establish inventory levels that drive sales and maximize profitability Prepare sales, margin and inventory forecast monthly Initiate conversations with cross-functional partners regarding potential risk or opportunities and suggested changes to course of action for both current and future quarters.
