Our client, a global biopharma company that aims to improve health by rapidly delivering innovative medicines and technologies to patients is seeking a Network Administrator/Engineer to help build and maintain its next generation network. The Network Administrator/Engineer should be comfortable working with traditional network equipment as well as new technologies on multiple platforms including firewalls, switches and cloud-based networking technologies such as SD-WAN, Azure and AWS. This will be a highly dynamic position and responsibilities range from design and implementation to operations and support.
Strategy & Planning
Assist in network design and capacity planning.
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use.
Establish service level agreements with end users.
Acquisition & Deployment
Assist in installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment, either physical or virtual.
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to administer network products and services.
Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and security efforts.
Ensure network connectivity of all endpoints and environments, including AWS and Azure.
Manage network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, firewalls and UPSs.
Administer equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
Perform security audits on firewall, router and switches.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades and repairs.
BA/BS degree in computer sciences and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
Network engineer certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP desired but not required.
Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems outlined below.
Experience designing, implementing and supporting SD-WAN technologies such as VeloCloud.
Familiarity with configuring and administering Palo Alto Firewalls, including Palo Alto Global Protect cloud.
Proven AWS experience especially in the following services (VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, Security).
Scripting experience with Python and Ruby.
Experience managing deployments using Terraform, Ansible and Github.
Complete command on dealing with security systems, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, anti-virus software, log management, authentication systems, content filtering, etc.
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, Okta a plus.
Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
