Raytheon IDS Seapower Programs, Portsmouth RI Senior Contracts Negotiator, Undersea Systems Programs
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems has an exciting new opportunity on our Contracts team based in beautiful Portsmouth, Rhode Island, supporting our Seapower Undersea programs. The Sr. Contract Negotiator will participate in and help support contract administration, negotiations, and other related activities in support of several Undersea Systems programs This position will report to the Undersea Systems Sr. Manager Contracts and will be responsible for the daily contract administration tasks associated with Torpedo Production Contracts, and other programs for Undersea Sonar systems.
Contract responsibility will include participation in front-end discussions of new business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and Domestic/International customer activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Candidate must be able to readily adapt in a challenging, fast-paced environment dealing with complex contracting matters. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, to be able to research compliance issues, interpret regulations, and formulate recommendations, is an effective team member, can be efficient at multi-tasking, has proficient knowledge of FAR and DFAR, has sound oral and written communication skills, has a working knowledge of contractual databases as well as a knowledge of ITAR and EAR.
The Sr. Contract Negotiator supporting these key program areas will also be responsible for management of the customer relationships with various contacts in the NAVSEA program office, as well as those located in Washington, DC. This person will be asked to provide key business counsel and leadership to customer Torpedo and Sonar Program Management Teams. The individual will strive to be a valued member of the Cross Business Team (CBT). Individual must be prepared to negotiate sound business deals with its customers and to provide governance to the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract. Must be able to apply tenets of Raytheon s principles of Customer Focused Marketing to establish and maintain effective customer relationships based on professionalism, responsiveness, and ethical conduct.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date
Required Skills / Basic Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in the field of Contract Management, Negotiations, Finance, Supply Chain, Program Management or related fields
Strong knowledge and experience working with FAR, DFAR, ITAR, etc. and/or equivalent government regulations
Experience in generating and negotiating complex proposals/contracts
Experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Project)
Ability to solve problems, develop solutions, and assist the business leaders in achieving their financial and performance goals and objectives.
Provide support to front-end strategic assessment of business pursuits.
Act as the primary focal point for customer interface with Company during all phases of contract performance.
Financial understanding of rate structures and pricing strategies
Some travel required, approximately 25%
