ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Global Scientific Publications Innovations Director will support Pfizer Oncology in leading and developing a digital scientific communication strategy for publications and congresses across the oncology portfolio.. Develop and implement a digital scientific communication strategy across the Pfizer Oncology portfolio that broadens the reach and impact of publications. Collaborate with Global Scientific Publications leads, Pfizer Business Technology, and external partners to evaluate and drive new digital and patient-centric initiatives. Lead and chair Publication Steering Committees (PSC) for assigned compound(s) as needed to develop global publication plans including abstract submissions, congress presentations and manuscripts. Collaborate with medical directors as needed to align on asset-level communication strategies and global-level medical strategies.. Develop key internal and external communications that present and share key scientific innovations and advancements. Collaborate with Publications Management Team (PMT) specialists to manage publication operations activities with the medical writing agency. Support asset teams, regional and global medical affairs and other Pfizer Oncology stakeholders in engaging with the external medical community. Contribute to strategic planning for key conventions to gain alignment on the Congress Plans from the cross functional/regional working teams.. Partner with PR, Media and World Wide Commercial Development around scientific communications. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS. Bachelors degree in a biological science, healthcare, or communications. Minimum 5-7 years pharmaceutical industry with 2+ years experience in Medical Affairs/Scientific Publications/Medical Communications Agency. Represent a function within a matrix organization through a strong track record of excellent presentation, customer facing, and interpersonal skills. Direct external vendors and manage budgets, timelines, and quality of deliverables. Grasp scientific context and assimilate perspectives from stakeholders. Strong track record of written and oral communication skills to develop and present scientific information to varied audiences and articulate messages succinctly. Understand detailed technical information and convey complex ideas to a variety of audience types and cultures. Quickly build rapport and credibility with key internal and key external stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills to track numerous tasks for multiple simultaneous projects in a deadline-oriented environment. Effectively operate in a complex internal matrix and external partner relationship(s). Travel requirement is 15%-20%. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS. Advanced scientific/healthcare degree strongly preferred (PharmD, PhD, MS, etc.). Experience in oncology. Experience in global medical communications and understanding of applicable regional legal and regulatory hurdles. Experience with scientific peer-reviewed publications. Familiarity with ICMJE Authorship Guidelines and Good Publication Practice Guidelines. Other Job Details:. Last Date to Apply for Job: September 20,2019.
