In this role, you will be working on the following tasks while also supporting our executive staff and studio team. The preferred starting date for this position is September 2019 for a duration of 4 months in our Design Studio in New York City. Job DescriptionAssisting the design team with the day-to-day needs, and participate in the development of the entire creative design processSupport with the research and picture database, update collection boards and overviewsSupport the designers with stitching toiles, testing fabrics & interlinings, making stitch trials, preparing finishing mock up, stitch final protos for meetingsCommunicate and work closely with the different departmentsPrepare development sheets with technical detailsAssist the design team in fitting sessions, prepare presentations and setting up meetingsThe Ideal CandidatePursuing BA or MA in Fashion DesignAvailable immediately Solid knowledge in womenswearThorough knowledge of fashion history, archetypesGood sewing skills both on industrial and domestic machinesKnowhow of specific finishing techniques and finishing's for each product categoryAdobe suite skills are a must, with the ability to use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to a high standardStrong interest and motivation to create high-end collectionsA team player with very good communication skillsBeing flexible and at the same time structured and organized. Being able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentFluency in English is an essential requirement All applicants must live in New York City, or a commuting distance from Manhattan. A strong interest in fashion & a knowledge of the industry is helpful, and previous intern experience is preferred. All interns must be available 2-3 days a week.
