This role will negotiate and place overseas and domestic orders based on Merchants and Design product packages, work directly with merchants and agents/vendors to receive timely initial quotations and accurate pre-production samples for all meetings. Responsible for directing production coordinators on all aspects of product tracking and order placement.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem solving skills and is willing to put in the work in order to meet deadlines.The candidate should have a strong attention to detail, great communication skills and excellent excel skills. Key Responsibilities: Product & Design DevelopmentNegotiate and place buys overseas and domestically with vendors based on technical packets supplied by Merchants & DesignBuild and maintain strong vendor matrix by creating strategic vendor alliances and partnering with factories and production resourcesOngoing overview and understanding of duty situations, labor issues/labor rates and component costing Monitor and maintain strict Product Development time-lines with Merchants, Design and supporting departments through creation of the product lifecycle caledar Responsible for timely receipt of counter-samples and initial quotations for product milestone meetingsEnsure consistency of product regarding quality, on-time delivery, vendor baseOversight and ownership of fittings, working with PD & factories to ensure best-in-classfit and construction development and executionDevelopment and Approval of packaging with suppliers in various countriesStyle ManagementWorking with factories and suppliers to ensure material procurement happening on time in order for factories to deliver against ex-factory datesOverall style management from factories to DC and partners ensure on-time deliveriesManage and track all inbound shipments of product, partnering with freight forward and DCAggregate, analyze and publish seasonal production cuts from all business channelsCostingAnalyzing and negotiating cost break down sheets at each product milestone to enable product engineering and counter sourcing strategiesOverall seasonal margin responsibilityCommunicationWork cross functionally with different department such as design, merchandising sales & PDRecord & communicate production changes to cross functional teamsRegular communication with factories and suppliers in various time zonesManagerial Responsibilites Production and Sourcing Assistant Requirements:Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience3-5 years of industry experience; including internshipsCreativity, technical capability and passion for productSelf-starter with ability to function independently as well as in a team based environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask and problem solve while meeting deadlines; highly detail-orientedProficient with all Microsoft Office; in particular excellent in Excel.Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
