Responsibilities. Seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to serve as a member of the Carrier Availability Support Team (CAST) for Carrier Availability Planning and Execution. The primary job location is in Portsmouth, VA.. This position will be responsible for providing technical support, guidance, and training to CVN Ship's Force personnel on the development and implementation of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), checklists, instructions and metrics associated with the planning and execution of the Ship's Force Work Package (SFWP) for COMNAVAIRLANT CVN CNO maintenance availabilities.. The candidate will need to interface with COMNAVAIRFOR Type Commander, shipyard points of contact, various program managers, and Ship's Force leadership at the work center, division, and department head level.. Qualifications. e specific requirements of this position are:. Serve as a member of the Ship's Force Resource Team. Assist S/F during maintenance availability planning and execution phases with level-loading maintenance and repairs performed by S/F to maximize productivity. Train and mentor S/F in the following areas:Discrepancy identification,CSMP management,Job Scoping,Material and repair parts identification and procurement,Other S/F maintenance training as required. Gather S/F Work Package maintenance lessons learned and best practices and schedule and conduct training for assigned S/F personnel. Assist Ship's Force in managing their Ship's Force Work Package production efforts so they complete scheduled maintenance in time to support maintenance availability time-lines, specifically to support maintenance availability Key Events. Provide examples of maintenance strategies that Ship's Force can utilize to govern their Ship's Force Work Package production efforts. Aid Ship's Force in utilizing shipboard and shore-based industrial facilities to accomplish Ship's Force Work Package tasks. Assist Ship's Force in the development of new maintenance strategies that are tailored to their specific Ship's Force Work Package. Assist Ship's Force in developing manning curves, work schedules, and maintenance plans (including equipment lay-up and start-up, as required). Collect and disseminate Ship's Force performance metrics and other metrics as required through the maintenance availability planning and execution phases. Compile an overall summary of the availability planning and execution events, including lessons learned and best practices identified during planning and execution. Work with Ship's Force to reduce the backlog of process review items that require Ship's Force input or action.. Job Requirements. Must have a current Secret Security Clearance Must be knowledgeable of and proficient in the use of the shipboard OMMS-NG system. Must have previous Navy active duty experience and stationed on-board naval aircraft carriers. Must have served as a Work Center Supervisor Must have qualified at the 3M Work Center Supervisor level (or higher). Must have Navy shipboard experience in one of the following areas: Combat Systems. Travel Requirements:. Must be willing to travel within the Commonwealth of Virginia and to Bahrain, as required. (less than 10% of the time) Must be willing to get underway on an aircraft carrier for up to 10 days at a time up to three times each year.. A High School Diploma is required..
