The Aircraft Maintenance/Sr Planner has overall program responsibility for the administration, maintenance, quality assurance, record keeping and technical management of the Zimmer Biomet aircraft to which he/she is assigned. This position is responsible for ensuring that the aircraft is airworthy and safely launched and recovered from each flight. The AMC works with cross-functional aviation and non-aviation teams located at various sites. The AMC works autonomously with regard to day-to-day aircraft maintenance processes. The role reports to the Aviation Maintenance Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, oversees and/or performs all scheduled and non-scheduled aircraft maintenance for the specific aircraft assigned; Develops a comprehensive maintenance program plan that meets airworthiness requirements and the business needs of Zimmer Biomet s executive travelers; Develops, publishes and maintains a rolling three (3) year maintenance plan and fiscal forecast for all Intermediate and heavy maintenance events; Maintains a current ninety (90) day 'Due List' for assigned aircraft; Develops a Work Scope for each Intermediate and Heavy maintenance event in conjunction with the 3rd party maintenance vendor (MRO); Audits aircraft records to issuance compliance to the manufacture and FAA regulations. Identifies and vets suitable maintenance vendors as assigned by Zimmer Biomet s Chief of Maintenance Submits maintenance plans to the Chief of Maintenance for 'one over one' approval as required; Maintains all maintenance records as required by the FAA, Zimmer Biomet's Maintenance Operations standards & processes and the requirements of the aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM); Emphasizes and champions a 'just safety culture' throughout the flight operation; Leads and champions continuous process improvement efforts to maintenance, inspection and training programs to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of Zimmer Biomet aircraft maintenance; Collaborates with other functional managers to ensure that maintenance needs are met; Ensures that all appropriate service bulletins (optional and mandatory) as well as other selected modifications are incorporated into the aircraft's progressive maintenance program; Defines and plans the maintenance work scope with MROs in collaboration with other internal functional areas; Reviews vendor payables to ensure accurate billing; Travels to foreign and various domestic locations as required in support of the assigned aircraft to meet company business needs; Works schedules that vary depending upon the aircraft's schedule; Works effectively, at times unsupervised, in remote locations in accordance with Zimmer Biomet duty standards and fiscal policies Troubleshoots aircraft systems, conducts inspections, and repairs aircraft in a timely manner; Provides technical guidance to Pilots and department leadership; Files and submits all warranty maintenance program claims for their assigned aircraft; Orders parts and other consumable materials used during 'Line Maintenance'. Maintains an accurate physical inventory of all rotatable parts, consumable materials and supplies necessary to support the efficient and effective operation of the assigned aircraft. Assists with the documentation and analysis of all component part and system failures in accordance with regulatory and company requirements; Insures all company assets are properly protected; Assumes other duties as may be assigned by Chief of Maintenance or Director of Aviation Services.
Expected Areas of Competence
FAR Part 91 Maintenance operations leadership experienced as defined by the Chief of Maintenance;
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; Experienced working with Computerized Aircraft Maintenance Program (CAMP); Engine run and taxi qualified;
Expert technical knowledge of all aircraft systems; Experience in vendor negotiations and contracting; Experience in leading teams of technical personal to positive, productive outcomes; Advance fault diagnosis of engines, airframe and systems in aircraft; Strong mentor and developer of maintenance personnel; Strong communication skills (verbal and written); Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills; Well-developed customer service attitude and interface skills; Self-directed performer with well-developed personal initiative; Strong influencing skills both within and external to the aircraft maintenance organization; Well-developed communications skills with internal and external customers, peers, vendors and professional colleagues in the business aviation profession; Be able to perform, lead and follow in team environments working collaboratively to produce positive outcomes.
?Demonstrated background that includes a strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and excellent knowledge of its applications, and FAA safety and operation standards. ?Specialized aviation maintenance training and/or learned through formal apprenticeships. ?Valid Airframe and Power Plant License is required. ?Minimum 5 years experience in an aviation environment along with mechanical, analytical, problem-solving and practical decision making skills. 10 plus year experience in maintenance of Bombardier, Gulfstream, or Cessna aircraft; Two (2) years of avionics maintenance experience; Five (5) years of Maintenance management experience; Minimum 10 years of experience functioning as a FAA Licensed A&P Technician on Executive Turbine Powered Aircraft; 2 years functioning as a Maintenance Supervisor or Lead preferred Bachelor degree preferred
